Get healthy and test your body for food intolerance
By: Aisling Meath
‘When it comes to the food you can eat – no two people are the same’ according to Dr. Azad Khanaqa, a nutritional expert who runs the West Cork Food Intolerance Testing Centre in Rosscarbery.
Many peole associate food intolerance with dairy products or gluten and give up bread or milk, but those foods may not be the culprit at all.
People who attend Dr. Azad’s clinic are sometimes surprised when they discover that their body cannot tolerate foods such as pepper, oranges, or lentils – never dreaming that such foods could be causing their discomfort.
This is why having a thorough and scientific test is the solution to the many uncomfortable side effects of food intolerance.
Symptoms such as stomach bloating, lack of energy, skin problems and a general feeling of not being well can often go undetected for years, and people just suffer on without realizing that they can empower themselves by eliminating certain foods from their diet -if they only knew which foods were causing the problem in the first place.
Dr. Azad provides advisory analysis after just one visit to the clinic using the latest technology developed in Germany – the wegamed machine. The test is suitable for adults and children over three years old, and costs 65 euros.
There are no blood tests involved, and Dr Azad also provides a functional diagnosis of all the main organs of the body, the heart, stomach, pancreas, bladder, kidney, liver, lungs, large intestine, small intestine and gall bladder.
If an issue is detected then Dr. Azad refers the client to their GP for further investigation.
As well as testing all the main organs, a very comprehensive list of foods and beverages are tested at Dr. Azad’s clinic– you name it- he tests for it!
‘My body cannot tolerate ginger or pineapple’ he says ‘ and I find a lot of people have a bad reaction to a certain food, without ever realizing what it is that is causing the problem’
Many people report incredible relief after being tested and finding out what to eliminate from their diet, and this, coupled with Dr. Azad’s nutritional advice has given many people renewed vigour and vitality.
Connie O’ Donovan who is 63 from Clonakilty was feeling very lethargic and his energy levels were getting very low. He heard about Dr. Azad locally and decided to pay him a visit.
‘I feel like a new man now’ said Connie ‘ Dr. Azad found a problem with my prostate and sent me to the doctor for blood tests.
He told me to start juicing, and stop eating pork -so I have ditched the fry, which I was fond of, but my system cannot take it.
My new morning routine is to make the juice by throwing in a bit of spinach which I have growing in the garden, add some carrots, beetroot, celery, apples blackcurrants, lettuce and a bit of garlic, and blend it all up.
I have that in the morning first thing, and it’s doing me the power of good.
I really noticed my energy levels improving after two to three weeks. I would definitely recommend a visit to Dr. Azad. It’s very important to take care of yourself and to keep an eye on anything that might be causing a problem, and now I am following it up with my GP.’
Dr. Azad also makes his own special oil blends, to be used topically, which have provided great relief to many clients with issues such as eczema, arthritis and other painful and persistent conditions.
Mary Dullea from Ballinascarthy was suffering from asthma and had a really dry and hacking cough which was plaguing her for seven years, and which she could not shift.
‘It was terrible’ she said ‘if we were out anywhere, such as having a meal at a restaurant, I had to rush off outside and leave my husband Edward sitting on his own and go out puffing away on my inhaler trying to stop the cough’
I went to see Dr. Azad and he ran tests and I found an intolerance to wheat, meat and dairy.
So I gave those up, which helped a lot, but it was the oil blend that he gave me that was like magic in a bottle.
I use it at night and it’s just amazing. The relief has been incredible, and it has made a huge difference to the quality of my life.
I would highly recommend anyone with chest problems or asthma to make an appointment with Dr. Azad’.
When Seamus Ryan failed for months to get a remedy for his urticaria, he decided to make the journey from his home in Kilkenny to West Cork to see Dr. Azad.
‘It was so worth the trip’ he said ‘ My hives have all cleared up, and I feel so great now. It was an enormous relief as I had been trying everything to clear up the urticaria but nothing was working.
I also had a problem with my shoulder and the oils which Dr. Azad gave me have sorted it out.
I am so grateful to him and could not recommend him highly enough. ‘
